Mother Roaster Pratu Phi, nestled in the heart of Bangkok, is a charming coffee shop that stands out for its dedication to quality and a cozy atmosphere. Customers rave about the pour-over coffee, crafted from beans sourced primarily from Thailand and Myanmar. Finn Ullom appreciates the unique offerings, like the imaginative bael fruit cake, complementing the shop's inviting interior which merges retro and modern aesthetics seamlessly.
Despite being somewhat small, Anthony Leung notes the comfortable seating and the skillful brewing techniques that enhance the overall coffee experience. However, Claus Kiaer points out that while the quality is commendable, the prices can be steep, akin to Nordic standards. This sentiment underscores a common theme: quality comes at a cost, which may not sit well with every patron.
Leo Schuur and JPS provide contrasting views on customer service. While Schuur found the owner a bit disengaged, JPS enjoyed the warm interaction with staff, who were both knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, the consensus is clear—Mother Roaster Pratu Phi delivers on flavor and atmosphere but be prepared for premium pricing. It’s a must-visit for coffee aficionados looking for authenticity in every sip.

Very nice interior and excellent pour over coffee. Beans are from Thailand and Myanmar. I also had bael fruit cake, which was really unique. Loved the design inside, great place to take a rest.
This one is a rather small shop. However, the coffee offered tastes good and the brewing is very nice as well. Seating is quite comfortable even though there are only a few seats in the shop.
Really good coffee. Speciality. But the prices are Nordic (I am from Denmark) which are too high even for bkk and for the drip coffee you even get less (150 ml). I have visit Mother Roaster for the last 5 years but will be the last time.
This cosy and nicely decorated coffee shop is just on 10 minutes walk from MRT Sam Yot. The atmosphere is very nice: a mix from old/retro with modern. The staff (owner?) is, if you ask me, not really friendly. His phone is soooo important too. Moreover, I don't like it when shops open too late..... 9am is 9am, isn't it? The coffee is of very good quality, fortunately.
Truly one of my favorite finds in Bangkok and one of my all time factors cafes. The atmosphere is great, very relaxing and homey, with gentle jazz playing in the background. The woman behind the counter was a gem; super friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English. Great selection of beans and when I asked for her recommendation, she suggested a local bean from Thailand. It was delicious. And I love the fact she only serves black coffee, iced or hot. A must visit for sure.
For those who have hard time deciding on a coffee menu, this place would be even harder…. The specialties turned out to be just ok? It’s fancy and innovative in a way, but maybe nothing can beat a good cup of cappuccino or americano. The taste was not so complex or layered. a bit disappointed. The atmosphere was great with plenty of space. But quite dark inside.
The best coffee in Bankok! I took a hand brew V60 coffee from local beans, and it was even tastier than coffee from good Moscow's cafes. I will definitely miss this place( The atmosphere is so nice and friendly. They have different varieties of coffee beverages and different beans. And you can buy beans there also. The prices are usual for such good quality. And They cook very fast. So if you want to enjoy your coffee and see a coffee culture - visit this place ;)
Came here almost closing time. Love the relaxing and rustic vibe of the cafe. Barista is one of the passionate ones. Others dont really let you in on the process. He let me small the beans before grinding them. Must visit in BKK.
